This is an artificial light effect making the black ball shine. Doesn't it look like the sun's light is reflecting off of the ball? I used the Drape Tool to drape an offsetted circle onto the ball and painted each of the rings a different shade, then I softened the ball so that the shining looks realistic. And finally, I added a shadow. Anyways, hope you all like it!
