From "The Amazing Screw-On Head" by Mike Mignola the creator of Hellboy, the premise of the story is awsome and takes place in a "secret history" around the time of the Civil War. ... ... This is the airship used by the villianous Emperor Zombie (David Hyde Pierce) in the days of Abraham Lincoln. ... ... The ship appears for only a few seconds in the half hour special, and is barely seen... so here is what i put together based on the footage. it is basically an old train Boxcar that has been heavily armored and adapted for flight with a hot-air balloon and prototype propulsion system. i made an actual physical model of this a few years ago and built this sketch-up version using that as a blueprint... ... this model features an extending gantry with gatling gun, armor plating that drops to shield the gear room. landing skids and stairs. ... just watch the animation or click through the scenes to see the various modes.
