Grade 2* Listed Building. Former farmhouse. Currently used as a residence and for education. Large complex building. Mainly 16th C and 17th C but incorporatng some 14th C fabric. Mainly squared and coursed marlstone. Some limestone rubble. Cotswold stone slate roofing. Multiple gables and tall brick and ashlar chimney stacks. Timber lintels over the windows. Two-storey porch. The building was reputedly the refuge for King Charles II during the English Civil War. He stayed covertly in the house, briefly in 1651, prior to his escape to France.
