Located in Juneau, Alaska the capitol building is a six-story Art Deco structure. The building was constructed with brick-faced reinforced concrete. The front includes a portico with four columns made of Tokeen marble. The capitol was originally the Federal and Territorial Building, but once the Alaska Statehood Act was enacted, it became the property of the State of Alaska. Contradictory to the design of many state capitols, it does not have a dome or luxurious landscapes.
