Home of George Wythe, educator, legislator and judge. One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson studied law under him and referred to him as a mentor. The house served as Geoge Washington's headquarters just before the battle of Yorktown. It is an example of one of the larger Georgian brick homes of the colonial era in Virginia. The model was built with the aid of drawings from the HABS Colonial Wiliamsburg survey of 1976.
