Jewry Wall is a wall in Leicester, close to the Highcross shopping centre, that was built around the time that the Romans settled into Britain. The wall was excavated in the 1930's and was believed to have been built around 160AD. The wall is the only part of the main structure left of what used to be the Roman public baths, which were later excavated when the foundations were found. A museum now stand beside the Grade I listed wall showing different excavated items found around the world belived to have been from around the time of the Roman Empire. The wall and museum are the fore-front of the historical background of Leicester, which was a major Roman city, then known as Ratae. - Enjoy :) - serjSAM09
