The Ricketts Laboratory Building was the last of the major structures built at RPI before the Second World War. Initiated in 1934, it was completed in 1936. Built of Harvard brick and trimmed with limestone like the other period buildings on campus, it was the first steel-framed structure to be built. It was named for President Ricketts (who had been responsible for the building boom), who died in 1935. Modeled by John Wallace, RPI Architecture 2014.
