The Beiderbecke & Miller Store is a four story brick structure which was orginally part of a continuous block of commercial structures. It was built around 1874 in a style which was typical in the Victorian Era. The Architect was Frederick Clausen. In 1910, the building was given a facelift which made the building more reminescent of the Chicago School. The remodel was designed by the firm Clausen & Clausen. Charles Beiderbecke (Carl) and Frank Miller opened their first grocery store in 1856. Charles was the grandfather of jazz legend Bix Beiderbecke. The store closed down in 1902. After that the building was Abraham's Womens Apparel from at least the 1920's to the 1980's. Savitri's Restaurant inhabited the building for several years and now One Eleven Grill & Banquet resides in the building. Information provided by www.qcmemory.org and "Bix: the definitive biography of a jazz legend: Leon "Bix" Beiderbecke" by Jean Pierre Lion.
