This bed fits best in a room with at least 9 foot ceilings. Due to size, I recommend assembling the sides in the room it will be in. I did not put the slats in the model, but when I build this I plan on using 11 - 2x4x39 slats per bunk. 2x4x10's will allow 3 cuts per board, with only a 3" scrap. Most of the assembly will be using Kreg jig and 2" screws.
