The Utica Memorial Auditorium at 400 Oriskany Street West, Utica NY - built by the City of Utica in 1959. The AUD is the first building in the world to use the pre-stressed duable cable roof suspension system, more famously seen at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In 2011 the AUD was designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in recognition of its innovative cable suspended roof. Currently the AUD hosts the AHL Utica Comets & Utica College Hockey games.
