The FED 1g is a Soviet copy of the Barnack-style Leica 35mm rangefinder camera; it was manufactured from 1953 to 1955. The collapsible FED lens is a copy of the f3.5 Leica Elmar. The camera has a horizontally-traveling focal plane cloth shutter with speeds from 1/25 to 1/500 plus B.
