I designed this chest to carry the canvas and stakes for my medieval wall tent. I based the construction on various Viking designs (the Mastermyr Chest, the King Offa Chest, etc.). It has been sized to use standard lumber available at most big box stores. I skinned it with Poplar because I prefer to build with that wood. There are no nails / screws...it is all put together with dowels and glue.
