The Ioannina clock tower (ρολόι) was commissioned to Periklis Melliritos in 1905 by the Turkish commander of the city Osman Pasha. In 1925 the tower was moved entirely from its original position around 100 meters down the road to the position where it stands now. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Ioannina.
