The clock tower lies next to the A538 at Altrincham Interchange, which comprises a bus station, a railway station and a metrolink terminus. The clock tower was built in 1880 and is a Grade II listed structure. It's position near the interchange means that it is a significant landmark for all those arriving in Altrincham by public transport.
