This is my build of the Brian Law wooden clock found in his plans made available at his website. Using his detailed, dimensioned plans, I built this model in SketchUp using 59 separate components built into the 10 specified sub-assemblies. I encountered a couple of difficulties with the plans, but I guessed my way through them, and almost every clock component and sub-assembly is built exactly as dimensioned in SketchUp. When I finished building the parts, I assembled them and the gears just all fit together, which I think shows how good his plans really are. Frame not included, thought there is one in the plans. I also left out the string and brass weight.
This was going to be a SketchyPhysics Project Gone Wild, but after barely getting a tick-tock out of SP versions of just the frame, pendulum, timing shaft, and escape shaft, I realized it was beyond my computational means at present. That tick-tock was fun, though...
