This is the hatchback variant of the ISO Melbourne. It's more aimed at European buyers, and is shorter than the sedan. The Melbourne is a mid sized car availiable as a sedan, hatch (not for America) and wagon. It offers the driving enjoyment of RWD in a class of FWD cars like the Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6. Ride quality is also of a high standard, with ISO engineers benchmarking the Mercedes-Benz C Class Avantgarde in an effort to create an enjoyable real world driving experience. In left hand drive markets, AWD is availiable as an option. It's offered with a wide variety of engines and spec levels, which vary between countries (America doesn't get any diesels and the 1.4 turbo petrol and 1.6 turbo diesel are for Europe only. This is the 205 CTDi, which has the most powerful turbo diesel engine in it's class: a 2.3 litre with 205PS(202bhp,151kW)@4200rpm and 360Nm(266ft lb)@1900-3800rpm. With all engines, there's a choice of a 6 speed manual or DCG. The entry level Astilo costs €29,980, AU$35,450 or £24,190 for the 2.3 diesel (prices start at €18,940 for the 1.4 turbo petrol) and comes standard with features like power drivers seat, CD player, iPod connection, bluetooth, air conditioning, 7 airbags, DSC, cruise control, alloy wheels and auto headlights.
