This is the style of koi tanks and filtration system that we use here at Bickal Koi Farm. Bottom Drains with air domes feed water via gravity flow to a settling chamber. The pump draws its water from the center of two 55 gallon barrels which are inside the settling chamber. The barrels are filled with bio-balls or other material to be used as mechanical & bio-filtration. Air is used to backflush the bio-material prior to draining the settling chamber. This tank system is designed as a module, so that another tank can be rotated 180 degrees and fit along side of this one to create a fish house.
