I'm going to build this on the Saturday following this posting. The wheelchair manufacturer makes a "flip back" foot rest but I prefer my heels higher than my toes like the rest of the human race. The tubing is 0.75 OD by 0.125 wall thickness so while it will be a little heavier than a standard Medical Supply Complex piece of junk, it will be a lot stronger. Also, I use a custom footplate. Bottom line, I'm completely disinterested in negotiating specifications with a company 3000 miles away. Easier and faster to just get it done locally. It's pretty straightforward to build one. The aluminum tubing is cheap. Pipe bending is not difficult. Measure twice, cut once. That's why we use google sketch up.
