Earth (IPA: /ɜrθ/) is the third planet from the Sun and is the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System, in both diameter and mass. It is also referred to as the Earth, Planet Earth, Gaia, Terra,[4] and "the World". Here are three views of our planet - the leftmost view shows the earth with cloud cover. The middle view shows the surface of the earth only. The third righthand view shows a bathymetric view of the earth. Bathymetric mapping refers to construction of ocean and sea maps—bathymetric maps (BM). Bathymetric maps represent the ocean (sea) depth depending on geographical coordinates, just as topographic maps represent the altitude of Earth's surface in different geographic points.
