The M242B is chambered in a rimless version of 7.62x54r designated 7.62x54rs. it has a telescopic tritium powered scope with multiple chevron style reticles. it is only operated from a tripod. it also has long barrel spring recoil reduction system so the barrel recoils back into the gun along with the bolt, it has almost no felt recoil.
