Built in 1904, Maxim's Captive Flying Machines at Blackpool Pleasure Beachhave stood the test of time, the Captive Flying Machines have proved themselves to be incredibly lucky, too. The Flying Machines have survived World War I (1914-1918), World War II (1939-1945) as well as the Fylde Coast tidal wave of 1927.
