The Ford 3 ton, two man, was made up of standard commercially available Ford parts and used a pair of Model T gasoline engines, one for each track and was steered by varying the speed of two engines. The two engines developed 46 HP which gave the tank a top speed of 8 MPH. Although 15000 were ordered from Ford, only 15 were produced before the end of the war, and the Ford 3 Ton never saw combat. This one is one of the smallest tanks ever built. This tank was armed with a .30 caliber Browning tank machine gun, (a 1917 water cooled Browning modified with an air cooled barrel). The gun could be traversed in the mount 10 degrees, and elevated about 38 degrees, depressed 5 degrees. MODEL DONE IN SKETCHUP ONLY. PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!!!! ENJOY!!!!
