The Medal "For Service Abroad" is awarded to all UFS military members and goverment employees that have served the UFS government abroad. The award consists of a polished brass medal engraved with a globe, crossed rifle and sword, which is suspended from a three stripe green, blue, and dark tan ribbon, which is pinback. When awarded, the recipient receives a certificate, medal, and ribbon bar. The medal is worn on the left chest of a dress uniform and formal civilian attire. The ribbon bar is worn on the left chest of field uniforms. Civilian family members of recipients who wish to wear the medal in honor of their relatives may wear it on the right chest. When worn with other medals, the order of precedence is up to the recipient, except when worn with medals of other nations or orginizations, in which case UFS medals would have precedence.
