Alternately the IJN Musashi survived the Second World War and was taken by the Americans in 1945. She entered service in the USN Pacific fleet in 1954 as the USS New York and saw combat in Vietnam and during the 1991 Gulf War. In 1996 she removed from the Naval Vessel Register. A decade later the Japanese government purchased the ship from the United States for a symbolic price. After 3 years of major refurbishment, the ship, now renamed to her original name, entered the Japanese Maratime Self-defense Force as the JMDSF Musashi. Fully armed with Cruise missiles, Evolved Aegis Combat System, torpedo launchers, GPS directed/guided 18,1 inch cannons, and a full EW-suite, she is the single most potent warship ever to sail the seas. Credit goes to: Kevin Tsai for the base model which I have heavily modified (and cleaned).
