PETER W. CROMIE COLCHESTER - Peter W. Cromie, 47, died on March 4, 2011 in Green Mountain Nursing Home. Peter was born on May 19, 1963 in Burlington, son of the late Carroll and Marion Cromie. When Peter was six months old he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Doctors said Peter's life expectancy was 8 to 9 years. Because of the love and exceptional care given to Peter from his Mom and Dad, Peter survived to enjoy a much longer life. Growing up, Peter loved his rides in the car, always asking by making a "Brrrr" sound. He participated in Special Olympics and many other activities for children with special needs. Peter received great support from the Howard Center through the years. He enjoyed his time with the good folks at Onion River Day Program. After Carroll and Marion passed away Peter received excellent care from everyone at Green Mountain Nursing Home. Peter is survived by his sister, Carol Wilber and friend Alan Heil of Bradford, Gary and his wife Kathy of Waterbury, Greg and his wife Kay of Winooski; his nephews and nieces, Troy Wilber and his wife Jen, Chip Wilber, Brent Cromie, Sarah Cromie, and Matt Cromie. Keeping with Mom and Dad's wishes, a graveside service for Peter will be held in the spring at the family plot in the Hinesburg Cemetery in Hinesburg. Arrangements are in the care of Corbin & Palmer, 71 South Union St, Burlington.
