The Frying Pan Meetinghouse (also known as the Frying Pan Baptist Church) was constructed in 1791 on Robert Carter III's tract located off of Ox Rd, where the community of Floris formed a century later. It was one of Virginia's oldest integrated Baptist churches, and served both blacks and whites. Surrounding the church is a historical graveyard dating back to the construction of the building itself.
