The two layer sun pan oven bost from the energy of the sun by its big window towards the sun. The "dead room" between the layers helps keep the heat together with a big plexiglass that covers it all. The black pan right under the plexiglass cover of the oven is generating heat from the radiations of the sun, creating a sirculation of hot air in the oven. The sides of the oven is tilted to reflect the sun even inside the oven and also avoid shadows on the pot. Other external reflectors, could as well be used to increase the effect of the sun. The Heliso Sun Pan is designed for equatorial countries, but should also work other places.
