The Victorian overdamper action piano typical in UK. until the 1930's. These commonly ornate upright pianos got the nickname "birdcage" from the metal damper rods passing in front of the action giving the appearance of a wire cage. Unfortunately, these pianos can be difficult to service and usualy won't hold there tuning for very long. This particular example of these pianos is modeled after an upright in my collection dating to around 1887! Note... Thanks to sketchup for the original black piano model which I used for sizing and parts.
