This is the noturious solar heat pipe used in some desert solar electrical plant. Inner steel tube is isolated from outer clear glass tube with heat resistive rubber bushings and it is vacumed between two pipes. Nothing that can't be done, if you know the basics. Made after a "secret design" I saw on a Discovery Channel.
