This is a model of the Fort Sheridan water tower. This building in Fort Sheridan, Illinois, overlooks the Fort Sheridan Parade Grounds, and former army barracks. It was designed by Holabird & Roche from Chicago in 1891, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The tower was originally designed with a more pitched roof, and the tower was reduced to its current 168 foot height in 1949 to address structural problems.
