Banana plants are abundant in warm tropical regions around the world. In Southeast Asia, banana plants have been used since the beginning of primitive and ancient socieities. The plants have many useful properties, but are often grown to be consumed as food. The plant bears banana fruit during certain season. Many sweet treats can be made from the plants. The leaves are sometimes used to wrap food, and when steamed, it imparts a wonderful aroma and flavor to the food.
