Charles & Ray Eames, 1950 De Eames Plastic Side Chair dateert uit dezelfde tijd als de legendarische Fiberglass Chair. Hij ontstond in samenwerking met Zenith Plastics voor de Low Cost Furniture Design-wedstrijd van het Museum of Modern Art in New York en was de eerste industrieel vervaardigde stoel van kunststof.
