EF Johnson Status Management Unit (SMU). This device is used to change an apparatus' status with the push of a button followed by the "SEND" button without clogging radio traffic. In my county, these devices are quite popular and my FD uses them all the time to help keep the radios clear. This model to me, is quite accurate. ENRTE - Enroute; ONSCN - On scene; AOS - Available on scene; AOR - Available on Radio; AIQ - Available In Quarters; UNAVL - Unavailable (at the moment); SAA - Special Assignment, Available; SANA - Special Assignment, Not Available; OOS - Out Of Service; RCVD - Recieved; TRC - *unknown; ACKD - Acknowleged; EMER - Emergency; GA - *Unknown.
**Note: the "EMER" button is only used when an incident involving the apparatus has occured eg an accident or if the apparatus has caught fire etc. The model is to be scaled down and placed inside the cab of any vehicle. Should be about the size of a siren controller. I was just too lazy to scale it :P
