I built this of my own design mostly out of spruce construction lumber to keep costs down, and a few coats of paint to protect it from the elements.
Gussets stiffen the base, and pea gravel provides a level surface as well as drainage. More pea gravel after it's built, doubles as a sandbox for the little ones. A few splashes of vinegar discourages neighbourhood cats from using it as a litter box.
Used a standard swing seats and an 8 foot slide. I built a base, but didnt include it in the model as it will vary in real life. Although, this model I put swing seats made from scrap 2x10 which I had to do on another set I built upon not being able to find any swing seats for cheap. The 8' x 12' tarp I found at Walmart and it provides a cheap and simple source of shade and shelter (from the rain if you're from BC). Although I had to cleverly fold it in on itself to make it look nice.
Playground chain and various eyelits are widely available at nearly all hardware stores.
