this is a model of a wooden 2 seater sofa that i did as part of my AS-Level product design exam prep work. The whole chair is made from one piece of ash laminboard, formed over a mould an then compressed with either a second mould, or a bag press. the arms are them bolted on using captive barrel nuts, and the cushions are glued on with a contact adhesive. (the construction is more though through than most of my models as i had to know how i would make it). The chair is finished with a polyeurothane varnish. the wood is sourced from managed foresest, and the cushions are made from recycled material to help make the chair as eco friendly as possible. This was designed to be exhibited at a trade show in accordance with the AS level AQA exam brief.
