The Landscape Arch is the widest natural rock arch of the world. With a width of 88.4m, it is slightly longer than the longest human built stone arch bridge in Luxemburg. The area is part of the Arches National Park in Utah, and was explored by a scientific expedition in 1933-1934 under the leadership of Frank Beckwith. At its thinnest point, it is 3.35m broad and 1.8m thick. Since 1991, three large slabs of sandstone have fallen from the thinnest section of Landscape Arch, forcing the Park Service to close the trail that once passed beneath it.
