Real rock scanned (rock032). We are using these models to test our Rocksolver software which solves the jigsaw puzzle of building with irregular-shaped blocks of unprocessed rock (follow links for more information). Mesh reduced to 252 vertices (500 triangular faces) using MeshLab. The model was derived from a natural rock so its shape will have a natural look when scaled to any size. The model was textured with a photo of naturally weathered Hawkesbury sandstone in Sydney. To find other models with sandstone texture search for "SstTex" or to find models with the same texture search for "SydSst05". See website link below for more information about Rocksolver. The original rock is a piece of basalt from Bombo quarry south of Sydney and is about 100mm long. Model produced by Malcolm Lambert at Intresto.
