9-Track mainframe tape drive, from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, specifically used on the Digital Equipment Corporation DecSystem 20, but also used on some minicomputers. Tapes held about 60 megabytes of data, the equivalent of a VHS tape. This unit stands about 5' tall and 4' wide and deep. Tapes are on reels, about 12" in diameter, and held up to 1600 feet of tape.
