The trophy is awarded two only one team that is chosen to play in the Rose Bowl Game. The winner of the Big Ten Championship, or the Winner of the Pac 12 Championship. The winner of both of these games will be chosen to play in the Rose Bowl game and to win the Rose Bowl Trophy.
