Greenhead Park was officially opened on Saturday 27th September 1884. It included an octagonal bandstand and two lakes. Today one of the lakes is gone and the other is now used as a paddling pool. Over the years the park has also seen the addition of tennis courts and a bowling green, along with THIS fountain from the town's Market Place, which was moved there in 1923.
